Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This is the cookie policy of DorpCraft. Here we explain which cookies and similar techniques we use on dorpcraft.nl, and how you make choices via our cookie banner.
DorpCraft is part of the Verdraaid network: a group of friends, no lawyers. This document was generated with help of AI based on how DorpCraft works. It is seriously intended, but no official legal advice. Doubt something? Mail [email protected] — we're happy to look at it together.
Are you a lawyer (or have legal knowledge) and want to help us make this sharper or better? Mail then to [email protected]. We are a friend group without budget for paid legal help, so we are mainly looking for people who want to support us. However, we are gladly willing to put a credits-stukje in these legal pages for whoever helps us.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files your browser saves. Similar techniques are for example localStorage. Cookies can be necessary for the functioning of DorpCraft, or used for statistics or external content.
2. Consent
Under the Dutch Telecommunicatiewet and the AVG we ask for prior consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary. Necessary cookies we place without separate consent, because DorpCraft would not work properly without them (for example login).
You can always change your choice via the cookie icon, or by deleting your browser cookies. See also our privacy statement.
3. Categories in our banner
- Essential — always on; sessions, security, basic functionality.
- Analytics — only after consent; first-party cookie + measurement script (no Google Analytics, no replay).
- External Media — only after consent; loading of embeds such as YouTube.
4. Cookies we set ourselves
- dorpcraft_session — Essential — Login / session management — Max. 30 days
- dorpcraft_unlock_* — Essential — Access to restricted pages or messages — 7 days
- dorpcraft_unlock_form_* — Essential — Access to restricted forms — 7 days
- dorpcraft_form_once_* — Essential — Prevent double form submissions per device — 1 year
- dorpcraft_aid — Analytics — First-party visitor-id for consented analytics (no Google Analytics) — 12 months, or until your Analytics rejects
Our cookie banner saves your preferences in localStorage (no tracking cookie of Silktide). Silktide does not track visitors of DorpCraft.
5. External Media (YouTube etc.)
Videos are shown via YouTube-embeds. Those we load only after you accept "External Media". YouTube can then set its own cookies according to their privacy policy. Prefer not? Open the video directly on YouTube itself.
6. Analytics
If you accept Analytics, we use a first-party analytics cookie and collect additional usage data such as visited pages, scrolling, clicks and screen size. If you are logged in, these statistics can be linked to your account. If you have linked your Minecraft account via /koppel, they can also be linked to that Minecraft connection — never retroactively, and never via IP. We use no Google Analytics, no GTM and no session replay. The script /analytics.js is not in the first HTML; it loads only after acceptance. Revoking via the cookie icon stops new consented measurement immediately and clears saved hits/sessions for that visitor ID.
Without consent (or DNT/GPC) we place no analytics cookie. We count minimal daily aggregates without identity (page, UTM, referrer-host, country, rough browser/OS); that has its own, documented basis and is not the same as "anonymous".
7. Management in your browser
You can delete or block cookies via your browser settings. Note: without essential cookies, login and some functions on DorpCraft may not work.
8. Contact
Questions about cookies or privacy: [email protected]. We'd like to look at things together with you first to solve something.
